Blueprint for a Successful First Date
What? She said yes when you asked her out? Awesome! Now, let’s go over some advice for first dates.
First dates allow both you the opportunity to get to know each other better. Don’t set a date for some distracting activity like bowling or a movie. They don’t offer you an opportunity to get to know each other. I prefer boring dates. Getting a cup of coffee is perfect because it is not expensive and doesn’t come off as serious as a traditional date. If you take the girl out for coffee and the girl just acts very rudely or whatever, it is not a big deal to just get up and leave.
The goal of the first date is solely to get to know the girl. This is likely the most significant point I can make about first dates. I know you think she’s hot, but you really don’t know very much about her yet. Just have a good time and learn who she is at this point. Find out if you can actually tolerate her company. Don’t try to memorize a bunch of annoying questions to ask her. They are really obvious and only make you appear like a pathetic loser. Just have a normal conversation with the woman. You can ask her pretty much anything you want to as long as you actually care about the answer and aren’t just hoping to pass time or entertain her.
Personally I still get pretty nervous and excited before a first date. Getting to know a new woman and understanding her world view can be as exciting as opening a gift. You shouldn’t be too worried since first dates are usually fairly easy.
Here’s another pointer for first dates. Try not to get your expectations up too high. You only want to figure out if this woman is worth taking out on more serious dates. Don’t expect too much, she’s probably not going to go home with you that night or let you feel her up in the restroom stall. It is pretty typical for girls make random rules ahead of time about what they will and will not do on a first date. So just go in with the goal of discovering more about her.
When you part ways at the end of the date, hug her and give her a kiss on her cheek. This is one of my favorite ways of ending dates. She will be left thinking that you are very charming and cultured. It will broadcast to her that your a quality man. A gentleman that is searching for a quality girl.
Above all else though, remember to have a good time. Get the woman to laugh. She is probably a bit nervous about the date too. You will both feel a lot better after enjoying a good laugh. Keep things light and don’t be afraid to be a little silly. Not only will this make her laugh, it will show that you are a confident man. Just tell the woman something so stupid that she knows you’re just joking like “My mom drove me here. She is waiting for me to finish this up out in the parking lot. I can’t leave her hanging too long, so I have to make this quick.”
Follow this advice on your next date to make it a good one. Don’t forget that the main purpose of the first date is to evaluate this girl to see if she is worth your time. So don’t get too worked up.
